Assembly Guide
Professional Wardrobe Assembly Guidelines & Site Requirements
To guarantee a seamless setup by our technical fitting teams, please review the critical room preparations, spatial dimensions, and liability terms below prior to your installation date.
📐 Room Planning & Spatial Requirements
Surrounding Obstacles
Our wardrobe collections are premium, heavy-duty freestanding architectural systems, not built-in or fitted items. They require supplemental structural tolerances during the construction phase. Before booking, verify that your layout accounts for fixtures such as radiators, decorative coving, low-hanging lighting, window sills, door handles, and picture rails.
Floor Workspace Allocation (Flat-To-Upright Construction)
The majority of our spacious wardrobes are engineered to be built flat on the floor before being lifted upright into their final resting position.
- The Formula: You must provide a continuous, clear floor footprint that extends at least 20cm – 30cm beyond the absolute outer dimensions of the wardrobe.
- Example: For a wardrobe chassis measuring 250cm wide by 215cm high, your clear, unencumbered floor space must measure at least 270cm – 280cm in width by 235cm – 245cm in length. This gives installers the physical clearance required to securely access panels, fasten heavy-duty backboards, and insert hardware structural pins before raising the unit.

Vertical Ceiling Clearances
Standard flat-build wardrobes require an absolute vertical clearance of 10cm – 20cm between the top panel and your ceiling to allow the unit to be pivoted upright safely without scraping your ceiling plaster.
- Upright Build Exception: If your room features restricted ceiling heights, you must select one of our specialised collections designed to be built vertically from the base upwards (Sudo-construction).
Lateral Maneuvering Margins
To safely pivot and slide the heavy timber framework into its permanent position against the wall, you must preserve an absolute minimum of 2cm of clearance on both the left and right sides of the wardrobe.
- Example: If your chosen wardrobe model spans 200cm in width, your alcove or wall space must measure a minimum of 204cm wide.
💡 Pre-Order Spatial Check: If you are uncertain whether your bedroom dimensions can accommodate your chosen wardrobe and its assembly footprint, contact our customer support team with your measurements before finalizing your transaction.
🛑 Delivery & Installation Site Restrictions
For insurance purposes and the workplace safety of our field contractors, our team reserves the right to halt or refuse installation under the following conditions:
- Unsafe or Obstructed Access: Tight stairwells, exceptionally narrow corridors, or pathways blocking safe movement.
- Floor Discrepancies: Uneven or unstable subfloors. Our technicians provide an assembly service to build the product as engineered; we do not provide bespoke carpentry adjustments, floor leveling, or tailored modifications around uneven surfaces or walls.
- Environmental Safety: Workspaces that are unsanitary, cluttered, or pose health risks.
- Upper Floor Restrictions: Deliveries above the 1st floor require a fully functioning service lift that can fit boxes up to 220cm in length. If a lift is absent, unavailable, or too small, the team may refuse installation unless a ground-floor drop-off is accepted.
If an installation is aborted due to any of the site violations listed above, a mandatory return-visit freight and labor fee will apply.
📋 Pre-Assembly Customer Checklist
- [ ] Old Furniture Removal: We do not provide disposal, dismantling, or removal services for your existing furniture. All old items must be completely removed from the room before our team arrives.
- [ ] Packaging Logistics: Our team does not haul away waste packaging. However, they will compress, flat-pack, and bundle all cardboard and plastic wraps neatly so they are ready for your local recycling or disposal bin.
- [ ] Wall Anchoring: Our assembly technicians are strictly prohibited by liability insurance from drilling into your property’s walls or structural studs. Wall anchoring must be completed independently post-installation.
- [ ] Parking Provisions: You must arrange free, accessible parking directly outside or adjacent to the installation site. If no parking is available upon arrival, the appointment will be cancelled, and the assembly fee will be forfeited in full. Any local parking fees or permits required must be settled or provided by the client.
📅 Cancellations & Failed Visit Penalties
Our professional trade fitters are booked, routed, and compensated well in advance of your date. Consequently, strict cancellation windows apply:
- Delivery-Day Assembly Cancellations: If your installation is booked alongside your delivery and you cancel with less than 24 hours’ written notice, the entire assembly fee is forfeited. You will be billed a full secondary installation rate plus logistics re-routing costs to schedule a follow-up visit.
- Follow-Up Service Cancellations: If your assembly was scheduled for a later date independent of delivery, any cancellation processed after the products have already been dropped off incurs a flat £65 penalty fee.
- Aborted Visits (Customer Fault): If our team arrives within the confirmed time frame but cannot proceed due to insufficient space, unprepared rooms, customer absence, or lack of parking, the call-out is logged as a failed visit and the full assembly fee is retained.
🔄 Resolution Protocols & Post-Assembly Claims
Missing, Damaged, or Defective Components
If any component is found to be defective or damaged out of the box, installation will be paused. We will dispatch free factory replacements immediately. The assembly team will return to finish building your unit completely free of charge.
- Note: Manufacturer lead times for replacement parts vary between 1 to 4 weeks depending on production pipelines.
Ceiling Height Estimation Failures
- Unopened/Unassembled State: If our fitters measure your ceiling upon arrival and discover the unit cannot be physically erected, the order can be rejected. You will receive a product refund minus standard outward delivery and return collection freight costs.
- Partially Built State: If assembly has commenced before a spatial height error is realized, the furniture can no longer be sold as new or repackaged. In these cases, the product becomes non-returnable, and no refund will be issued.
48-Hour Inspection Window
Upon completion, you must thoroughly inspect the wardrobe alongside the fitters. Open and close all doors and drawers, verify alignments, and check surfaces for finish defects.
- Immediate Reporting: Any issues noted while the team is on-site will be resolved immediately or scheduled for an expedited free correction visit.
- Late-Reporting Claims: Any defects or assembly faults reported after the team leaves the site must be logged within 48 hours by replying directly to your original order confirmation email.
- Warranty Invalidation: Claims logged after the 48-hour window may incur call-out charges and component fees. Furthermore, any attempt to move, slide, disassemble, or structurally alter the wardrobe after our professional team has departed instantly voids your assembly service warranty and product structural guarantees.
⚠️ Relocating Your Wardrobe Post-Assembly
Once assembled, leveled, and squared, your wardrobe framework is designed to remain in its exact footprint to preserve its structural joins and door alignments. Should you choose to relocate the wardrobe to another room or wall, you do so entirely at your own risk. Sliding or lifting large-scale panel furniture subjects the internal connecting pins, dowels, and cam-locks to severe torsional stress. We accept zero liability for warped frames, door misalignment, or structural collapse caused by post-installation transit, and moving the unit will void your active product warranty.
